If you are looking for a bowls club in West Oxfordshire then look no further than the West Witney Bowls Club, which offers a warm welcome and excellent facilities for both new and experienced bowlers.

We are situated one mile to the west of Witney town centre on the B4047 Witney to Burford road. We are a friendly and competitive club which offers superb on and off the green facilities for all.  The club provides a well manicured full size 6 rink green which is open from late April to the end of September each year.

The club was originally formed in 1955 as the bowls section of Smiths Industries Sports & Social Club and became an independent club in 1973 changing the name to West Witney Bowls Club. 1998 saw the 25th anniversary of that formation and this Jubilee year was celebrated in style with prestigious matches against England and Oxfordshire teams.

The green is widely recognised as being one of the finest in the County and has been the venue for many County matches over the years and also with many Semi-Final and Final County competitions held here. We ourselves have a very good record of members who have won various County Competitions over the past years.

Complementing the green, we have a modern clubhouse with a fully equipped kitchen and panoramic views from the lounge and bar area. During the winter months the clubhouse is open, as the members use the facilities for short mat bowling and also many fund raising and social events.

The policy of the club is to continuously improve facilities for all its members. We have very good parking space to accommodate our own members and visiting clubs.

We have vacancies for new members whether they are beginners or experienced bowlers and rest assured you will be given a warm and friendly welcome. Membership fees are very competitive ranging from £15 per annum for juniors, £60 for full playing membership and £10 for social members.

New members of all ages are very welcome and the club has a strong coaching staff who will quickly guide you to becoming an accomplished player.
